Job Description

Road Forklift Technicians will diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance on forklifts and other material handling equipment and construction equipment. Equipment includes forklifts, telehandlers, MEWP’s (mobile elevating work platforms/aerial lifts) such as scissor and boom lifts, cranes, and other powered industrial equipment. Technicians will utilize their own tools, along with a company owned work vehicle.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Travel to client locations to perform on-site maintenance, repairs, and installations
  • Diagnose equipment issues, identify solutions, and execute necessary repairs
  • Perform both routine and unique “on-site” equipment maintenance and repairs
  • Communicate with internal parts and service staff on daily basis including job status, proximity, parts needs, customer requests.
  • Communicate with customers directly both on-site and phone/email to explain and sell repairs and needs
  • Manage and coordinate scheduled return work and coordinate with customers and dispatch
  • Follow established procedures and protocol in regard to filling out timecards, processing work orders, parts ordering, and dispatch.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years minimum experience repairing forklifts, aerial lifts, cranes, and other material handling equipment (3+ years preferred)
  • Must supply your own tools. Some diagnostic equipment to be made available as needed.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, and clean, insurable driving record.
  • Technicians are required to adhere to terms of the negotiated contract and compensation package.
  • Will be required to pass a mechanical aptitude test.
Schedule
  • Full-time
  • 8-hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
Work Environment
  • Primarily work on-site at customer locations
  • Daily travel is required; company work truck provided
  • Overtime opportunities available and may at times be required.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequently lift to 50lbs, at times, more
  • May be required to work in the elements – heat, cold, rain, snow
  • Flexibility to bend, stoop, and kneel
Compensation 
  • $30-$40 per hour
