Job Description

The Service Manager plays a vital role in leading our service department and driving excellence in the maintenance and repair of material handling equipment. The Service Manager will ensure the efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction of our service operations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of service technicians and admin, providing guidance, training, and support.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging team members to excel in their roles.
  • Oversee all service operations, including maintenance, repairs, and installations of material handling equipment.
  • Ensure that service jobs are completed on time and meet quality standards.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and act as a primary point of contact for service-related matters.
  • Address customer concerns and inquiries, resolving issues effectively.
  • Schedule and assign service tasks to technicians based on priority, skillset, and availability.
  • Optimize service schedules to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime for clients.
  • Develop and manage the service department budget, including cost control and forecasting.
  • Monitor expenses, track performance metrics, and implement cost-saving measures.
  • Manage parts and equipment inventory to ensure timely availability for service jobs.
  • Coordinate with procurement to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Generate service reports, performance metrics, and other necessary documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records of service history, work orders, and customer interactions.
  • Implement process improvements and best practices to enhance service quality and efficiency.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, new technologies, and regulations.
  • Any and all additional duties assigned.
  • Travel as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proven experience in a service management role, particularly in material handling equipment or similar technical industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word), and ERP systems (Irium preferred).
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge in material handling equipment and related technical systems.

Work Environment

  • Office and warehouse/shop setting

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent walking in shop and offices.
  • Handle stress and high pressure daily.

Compensation & Benefits

  • $70,000 – $80,000 annual salary
