Reception/Front Desk Coordinator

The Reception/Front Desk Coordinator is essential to the function and operation of National Lift Truck, Inc.
As the candidate for this position will be the first impression of NLT for those entering our facility and for those contacting NLT by phone, communication skills are crucial. This person will need to be able to direct callers and visitors to the appropriate person or place in a friendly, timely and informed manner. The administrative duties that this position entails are also crucial to the functioning of the company. The candidate must be able to perform many tasks at once, in an efficient and organized manner, and be able to take directions from many different departments and managers. 

Work schedule will be determined by the hours of operation, which are Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5 pm. This is a full time position that is compensated with competitive hourly pay and a full benefit package.

General Responsibilities:

  • Manage the lobby area
  • Greet and direct all visitors, including vendors, clients, job candidates and customers
  • Answer high volume phone lines and transfer calls to the appropriate individual/department
  • Maintain company phone list
  • Supply general information to callers, answer their questions and be able to direct them to the correct department

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
  • Operate mail meter
  • Mail out monthly statements
  • Systematically arrange and file invoices and other indexed documents
  • Assist department managers with the data updating and entry onto various spreadsheets
  • Clerical support for all office staff when necessary

 

Qualities and Skills Necessary:

  • Polished, professional, friendly and enthusiastic demeanor
  • Experience with a switchboard
  • Excellent communication and people skills
  • Strong ability to multi-task
  • Data processing skills
  • Comfortable with speaking on the telephone
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft programs, especially Word and Excel
  • Ability to take direction from different departments
  • Overall organizational and planning skills are essential

JOURNEYMAN ROAD MECHANIC

We are seeking an experienced Journeyman Road Mechanic to service and repair equipment for customers in the Chicago Metropolitan market area. We are a local, well established company with thousands of continuously satisfied customers whom we have accumulated and served for over 50 years.: 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Will perform maintenance, diagnose and repair a multitude of material handling and construction equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, boom lifts, cranes and personnel carrying equipment.

Requirements:

  • Needs to possess knowledge and skills to perform normal and unique “on site” repairs.
  • Good organizational, writing, and minor computer skills.
  • Self-motivated, and able to work with very little supervision.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, and clean, insurable driving record.
  • Must have own tools.
  • 7 years minimum of experience as a journeyman repairing forklifts, cranes, other heavy equipment or as an aerial lifts mechanic.
  • Must pass a mechanical aptitude and ability test.
  • All offers of employment are contingent on passing all pre-employment screenings including: background check, MVR, drug screen, and pre-employment physical.
  • Will be required to join Loc. 150 operators union, and will fall under the terms of its negotiated contract and compensation package.

PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC

We are seeking an experienced PM Mechanic to service and repair our equipment for customers in the Chicago Metropolitan market area. We are a local, well established company with thousands of continuously satisfied customers whom we have accumulated and served in over 50 years. We have an immediate opening for: 

Preventative Maintenance Mechanic

  • Will conduct maintenance and minor repair work on all sorts of material handling equipment: forklifts, aerial lifts, single man lifts, scissor lift, boom lifts, fork trucks, stackers, telehandlers, cranes and personnel carrier equipment.
  • Must satisfactorily perform minor diagnostics and have the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Needs to possess knowledge and skills to perform normal and reoccurring inspections
  • Will perform prep for rent inspections when the machine is transferred between customers
  • Must assist in the loading, unloading and cleaning of equipment
  • Will schedule quarterly, semi-annual and annual planned maintenance inspections
  • Must assist Field Mechanics with normal and reoccurring equipment maintenance

Requirements

  • Education:  High school graduate or GED equivalent
  • Experience: Mechanics, pneumatics and computer diagnostic software

TERRITORY OUTSIDE SALES REPRESENTATIVE

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual for a territory rental and sales position. The right candidate will be solution oriented, mechanically inclined and willing to learn our business from the inside out. As a multi-line provider of industrial and construction equipment including forklifts, aerial work platforms, telehandlers and cranes you will be the key contact for our established customer base while developing new customers within an assigned territory in the Chicago Metropolitan market area. Experience in the material handling or construction industries is a plus but the right attitude and a willingness to learn will provide an opportunity to grow with us into the future. This is an outside sales, repeat business and selling opportunity.

Requirements:

  • Computer proficiency and familiarity with MS Office a plus
  • Late model car or truck, valid driver's license current automobile insurance required
  • Ability to pass pre-employment testing (Drug Screen, Background Check)
